I never would have imagined–4 Generations of my family spending Christmas overseas!! We did more than imagine it— we made it happen. This was my third time in Barcelona. I went once with husband on a cruise, then i took my 2 youngest granddaughters–Maya and Kimmi, and Kelly met us there also and now there were 18 of us that went this past Christmas! A true multigenerational, blended, family and i’m sure my husband was smiling down on us the whole time. My highlights and recommendations from the trip are:
- Travel wise we used Delta Vacations to book the trip. As compared to booking separately we definitely saved money by booking through them.
- We stayed at AC Hotel Victoria Suites. It was centrally located, close to the metro and very reasonable. Also because it was a suites hotel we were able to maximize the number of people in a room. There was also a restaurant in the hotel that was a good spot for a late night drink and we used one of their rooms on Christmas Day to do a gift exchange. https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/bcnsu-ac-hotel-victoria-suites/overview/
- The first night we ate at Quesarium Bar. I don’t drink but those that do said the drinks were fantastic and the food was excellent. Also the staff was very accommodating. https://quesarium.bar/
- The other big highlight food wise for me was Flax and Kale https://flaxandkale.com/en. Me and Kelly went here on our last day and it was a perfect way to wrap up the trip. They had a wide variety of vegetarian options which you know was right up my alley.
